Leu Gardens has always been a favorite place of mine. It’s an oasis in the middle of Orlando, and if you’re ever looking for a nice little escape or a place to take guests from out of town it’s a great option. We went a couple weeks ago when Jon’s parents were in for a visit and had such a good time.
The gardens have gorgeous plants year round, but the azaleas are always my favorite.
There are several different areas with a wide variety of landscapes to see, including marshy wetlands, a rose garden, and even an edible garden with fruit trees and greens.
The grounds are very easily walkable and stroller-friendly. Graham loved looking around at all the colorful plants and checking out the sculptures!
And make sure you check out the flower clock, a favorite for picture opportunities!
Recommended ages: ALL! I took Graham when he was just a few months old and he loved it.
Cost: Adults are $10, kids 5 and up $3 (under 5 are free)
Parking: Free on site, but if you go on a free Monday get there early because it gets very busy!
The gardens are open for free several times a year, including the first Monday of every month.
Story Time (held on free Mondays) is SO much fun and has an amazing turnout. It’s for ages 0 to 5.
They also have awesome events and programs throughout the year, including concerts and date night movies, so you should definitely check out their event page!
If you think you’ll go on enough days or to enough events that aren’t free, consider getting a membership. It’s just $50 for a household.
