This is the first in a series of Orlando Staycation Itineraries! Make sure you check back for the others soon!
I love planning vacations, but sometimes it’s nice (and much more affordable!) to staycation in your own town! Because of that, I’ve come up with an itinerary for a full weekend staycation for the grown-ups. These are totally the things I would do if I had a weekend in town for just me and Jon. If I’ve written a blog post about one of the activities it’s linked, if not I’ve linked to the venue website!
Start the weekend off right with some good food and laughs! Grab dinner at one of the funky restaurants in the Mills 50 area (Pig Floyd’s and Hawkers are my faves!) and see an improv comedy show at SAK Comedy Lab. This is definitely a date night you can do for under $50 thanks to FL Resident rates at SAK and well-priced food options downtown. Here’s a blog post I wrote about this date night!
Head over to the Winter Park Farmer’s Market and stroll around. You can go on the self-guided walking tour and enjoy lunch or some ice cream at one of the awesome local cafes. If you want to spend a little more time there, check out the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour (which I blogged about recently). It’s a relaxing way to see a lot more of the beautiful town.
Head out to Winter Garden in the late afternoon and look through the shops on Plant Street. Grab dinner at a local cafe, or head down to Plant Street Market for some local brews and some tasty food! Here’s a blog post I wrote about this hidden gem!
Take a mini-road trip out to Bok Tower Gardens and wander around the gorgeous grounds. You can have lunch at the little cafe on site and make sure you bring a blanket so you can lounge around under the shade trees while you listen to the carillon. This is a true Central Florida treasure and I blogged about it here!
If you decide you want to step up your staycation just a bit, make sure you check out this tutorial I wrote on how to get an awesome hotel for super cheap!
Make sure you tag me on your social media if you give any of these staycation ideas a try! I’d love to see all the fun you’re having!
